The Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors has approved Andora Oaks, a 150-home residential development proposed by Terra Dominion HP LLC on 56 acres between State Route 3 and Old Plank Road. The neighborhood, which will include sidewalks, asphalt trails, and two access points—one from Route 3 and another connecting to Ashleigh Park—required rezoning from rural to planned development housing.

The developers Cypress Real Estate and Highcrest have proposed a new seven-story residential building near the headquarters of Mars, Incorporated in downtown McLean, aiming to catalyze further redevelopment in the area by introducing multifamily housing into a zone dominated by office space. The plan targets a modest-sized property that was formerly used as office buildings, and the project is pitched as part of a broader push to revitalize McLean’s commercial core by converting older buildings into new housing.

Eighteen months after developer Kim Hart brought forward an idea to the county supervisors for a pilot project expediting attainable housing applications in Loudoun, teams last week broke ground on a Sterling parcel that will provide 80 affordable units.

Green Street Housing and Good Works have repaid $2 million of a $2.5 million loan from the county’s Affordable Multi-Family Loan Program—30 years ahead of schedule.
